Regional research vessel built in 2009 for research cruises in the Adriatic and Mediterranean seas related to marine research (physic, chemistry, geology, biology and fisheries). Ship crew consists of six members including a specialist in computers, electronics and oceanographic engineering. Cruise autonomy of BIOS2 is 2000Nm or 20 days for totally 26 people including crew. Availability for EUROFLEETS2:
Modality of access under this proposalR/V BIOS DVA will be available 10 days for EUROFLEET-2 in the period July-2015 to November-2016 for the Adriatic Sea.
. Users will have full degree of independent access to the all infrastructure and scientific equipment onboard of the ship. Scheduling of ship (location and duration of work), type of equipment used and expected output will be fully considered with users. Users will able to embark additional research equipment on vessel with agreement of professional person having in mind space on ship deck, weigh and height of equipment.
Support offered under this proposal: Ship crew and one specialist will give a full support to the users during preparation of cruise, preparation and performing of on board measurements and in operational deployment of any type of instruments, as well as creation of output results in marine physics, geology, chemistry, biology and fisheries. Definition and scheduling of all activities onboard of ship users will justify with professional expert from IOF. In addition, crew will offer users food and accommodation, space in laboratories (dry and wet) and full operational and logistic support.
Travel and shipment costs for "Regional 3 Call":
• European funding will cover use of the vessels (with some berth limitation in some cases), full crew, fuel (at economical service speed, for details contact vessel operator), victuals and other standard operating costs. Travelling for the embarked team and transport of equipment will be covered up to a maximum amount designated to each research vessel.
• Grantees will not invoice the EUROFLEETS2 Consortium or respective vessel operator for any additional or third-party costs, such as salary costs, equipment manufacture, repair and rental of equipment, consumables, sub-contracting and assistance, publication costs and overheads
